In Spherical Harmonics domain, or Higher Order Ambisonics (HOA) domain, Mint Muse developed our own compression technology that preserves high quality spatial representation of sound, while achieves low rate of information storage, transmission and live broadcasting.
By using stereo speakers, speaker arrays, and other special peripherals, Mint Muse's 3D technology enables users to enjoy 3D audio without wearing a headphone, achieving free-field listening and safe listening. The technology is currently licensed to VR/AR and mobile industry manufacturers.
With several low-cost microphones distributed freely inside a device, we are able to train the array and achieve 720 degree 3D audio with signal processing algorithms. This technology enables VR cameras to capture 3D audio without the need for an accessary or change its original industrial design.
Mint Muse 3D game audio engine supports binaural audio rendering and 3-axis head rotations with non-perceivable algorithmic delays. It supports sound obstruction/occlusion, and has a unique method to render the distance perception of sound. It's currently being expanded to multi-person VR game systems and to support speaker array systems.
